Folsom, California

Folsom is a lovely city in Sacramento County, California. It is a place where many families live and enjoy the sunny weather and beautiful outdoor spaces.

Fun Places and Things to Do

Folsom is a great spot for outdoor fun, especially around Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma. You can go hiking, biking, or even fishing. The city has many miles of trails, like the Humbug-Willow Creek Trail and the Folsom Parkway Rail Trail. The American River Bike Trail also starts near here and goes through Folsom.

A Bit of History

Long ago, the Nisenan tribe of Native Americans lived in this area. Later, during the Gold Rush of 1849, many people came to search for gold. A man named Joseph Libbey Folsom helped build the town and named it after himself. Today, Folsom is remembered by many for the famous song "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash.

Schools and Colleges

Folsom has good schools, including Folsom Lake College and Folsom High School. The Folsom Cordova Unified School District takes care of the public schools in the area.

Friendly Connections

Folsom has special friends in other parts of the world. These are called sister cities. One is Crespano del Grappa in Italy, and the other is Jiaohe City in China.

Folsom is a wonderful place to live and visit, with lots of nature, history, and friendly people.
