What is G-code?

G-code is a special set of instructions that helps machines make things. It is like a secret language that tells machines exactly how to move and shape materials. People use G-code in factories and workshops all around the world.

How does G-code work?

These instructions are sent to a small computer inside the machine, called a controller. The controller tells motors where to go, how fast to move, and what path to follow. For example, in a 3D printing machine, G-code tells the printer how to build objects layer by layer.

Why is G-code important?

G-code helps machines work with great precision. This makes it very important in modern manufacturing and invention. It lets people create everything from toys to tools with amazing accuracy.

G-code was first created at the MIT Servomechanisms Laboratory in the 1950s. Since then, many groups have made their own versions of these instructions. Today, G-code is used in many different kinds of machines, helping people build and create amazing things.
