Glen Tilt

A Beautiful Valley in Scotland

Glen Tilt is a lovely valley in the north of Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It begins close to the border of Aberdeenshire and runs toward the town of Blair Atholl. The river Tilt flows through this valley for 14 miles before joining the river Garry.

The valley has many interesting features, including small waterfalls from streams like the Tarf and the Fender. In the eastern part of Glen Tilt stands a big mountain called Beinn a' Ghlò, with three tall peaks known as Munros. People love to visit this beautiful place for its nature and quiet beauty.

Long ago, important visitors came to Glen Tilt. In 1532, a special meal was prepared for James V in a wooden building that looked like a castle. Later, Mary, Queen of Scots also visited and sent a letter from there.

Scientists who study the Earth, called geologists, find Glen Tilt interesting because of its unique rocks. Famous geologist James Hutton visited and learned important things about how rocks form.
