Hot Springs is a fun and relaxing city in Arkansas, United States. It is special because of its warm waters that flow from natural hot springs. People have visited these springs for years because they believe the water can help heal and relax.
The city is in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains and is the county seat of Garland County. As of the 2020 United States census, Hot Springs has about 38,000 people. It is the eleventh-biggest city in Arkansas.

Hot Springs is famous for its warm waters. There are 47 springs in the downtown area, and about one million gallons of warm water flow each day. The water is heated to about 143°F (62°C) and comes from rain that fell 4,400 years ago!
You can visit Hot Springs National Park, which is the oldest federal reserve in the country. The park cares for the hot springs and has beautiful gardens along Bathhouse Row. There are eight old bathhouse buildings where people used to relax in the warm water.

Hot Springs has many fun places to explore. You can visit Oaklawn Park, where horse races happen each year. There is also Magic Springs, a fun theme park with rides and games.
You can walk along Central Avenue, which has old buildings, shops, and places to visit. The Arlington Hotel is a famous old hotel built in 1924.
Garvan Woodland Gardens is a beautiful garden with plants from the Ouachita Mountains and a Japanese garden. It is next to Lake Hamilton and is a great place to walk and enjoy nature.
Famous People
Hot Springs has been home to many famous people. Bill Clinton, the 42nd president of the United States, grew up in Hot Springs. Actor Billy Bob Thornton was also born in the city.
