Hydrophiinae
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
Hydrophiinae are a special group of snakes that belong to a family called Elapidae. Most of them are sea snakes, which live in the ocean. But many also live on land, especially in places like Australia and nearby islands.
These snakes are important because they help keep the numbers of small animals in balance. Scientists also study them to learn about their venom, which can help make new medicines.
One well-known sea snake is called Hydrophis jerdonii, also known as Jerdon's sea snake. These snakes are fascinating because some of them can live both in water and on land. They are part of a big family with many different kinds of snakes, including taipans, tiger snakes, brown snakes, and death adders.
