The Invasion of Poland
The invasion of Poland was a difficult time that started a big war in the world. It happened in September 1939 when three countries moved into Poland. These countries were Nazi Germany, the Slovak Republic, and the Soviet Union. They had a secret agreement called the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.
Poland is a country in Europe. After this invasion, Poland was not its own country anymore. The land was split between Germany and the Soviet Union. Many Polish people who could leave joined forces in other places to keep fighting.
This invasion was very important because it started a big war that affected the whole world. France and the United Kingdom were friends with Poland, but they could not help Poland during this time.
The story of Poland during this time is remembered with sadness, but many people worked hard to keep their spirit alive. Today, there are special places and stories that help us remember what happened and honor those who lived through it.
