Kigali

Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda, a country in East Africa. It is sitting on rolling hills with beautiful valleys. Kigali is a busy city where people work, learn, and enjoy life.

Kigali was started in 1907 by a German leader named Richard Kandt. It became the capital of Rwanda in 1962 when the country gained independence. Today, Kigali is much bigger and busier than it was back then.

The city of Kigali is home to many people. It helps those who need a safe place to stay before they move to new homes in places like the United States or Canada. Kigali is a centre for government, business, and tourism in Rwanda.

Kigali is split into three parts called districts: Nyarugenge, Kicukiro, and Gasabo. The city is known for being very clean and safe. People enjoy music, dance, and films here. Traditional Rwandan dances and drums are popular, and there are also music festivals with artists from around the world.

Kigali has many schools and universities. The University of Rwanda has several campuses in the city. Children can go to school for free for some years, which helps families who need support.

The city has places for sports, like Amahoro Stadium for football and Kigali Arena for basketball. People also enjoy cycling and walking in the green spaces around Kigali.
