Kirsty Coventry

Kirsty Leigh Coventry Seward is a wonderful person from Zimbabwe. She loves sports and has done many great things!
Kirsty was born on September 16, 1983, in Harare. She grew up going to school and started swimming when she was young. She went to Auburn University in Alabama, which is in the United States.
Kirsty became very good at swimming. She won many medals in big competitions called the Olympics. In the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, she won three medals. In the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, she won four medals! She stopped swimming after the 2016 Olympics.
Later, Kirsty started working in government. She helped take care of sports and fun activities for young people in Zimbabwe. In 2025, she became the president of the International Olympic Committee. She is the first woman, the first person from Zimbabwe, and the first African person to hold this job.
Kirsty loves helping others and making sports fair and fun for everyone!
