The Kingdom of Lan Na
Lan Na was an old kingdom in what is now Northern Thailand. People also called it the Kingdom of Lanna, which means “Kingdom of a Million Rice Fields.” It existed from the 1300s to the 1800s.
The kingdom grew stronger over time. One of its most famous kings was Tilokaraj, who ruled from 1441 to 1487. He helped protect the kingdom and make it important in the area.
Today, people in Northern Thailand remember Lan Na with pride. They brought back old traditions, like special writing and beautiful clothes. Teachers and researchers helped rediscover these old ways, making people feel happy about their history.
Lan Na was once a busy and strong place, and its stories are still told and celebrated today.
