Lavrio is a cozy town in Greece, close to the big city of Athens. It sits near the sea with beautiful views of the island Makronisos.

Long ago, Lavrio was very important because of its rich silver mines. People used the silver to make coins for the Athenian state. Today, you can visit the Archaeological Museum of Lavrio to see old treasures from that time.

The town has a port right in the middle and streets that look like a grid. You can drive through Lavrio on the EO89 road or take a train to nearby Athens. Lavrio also has teams for football and basketball, which many people enjoy watching.
