The Los Angeles Times is a big newspaper from Los Angeles, California. It started in 1881 and is one of the largest newspapers in the Western United States. Many people read it online today.
The Los Angeles Times has won many Pulitzer Prizes for its great stories and photos. It covers important news, especially about California and Southern California. The newspaper is owned by Patrick Soon-Shiong and also gets money from ads and special articles.
The Los Angeles Times has been through many changes over the years. It has had different owners and needed to make changes to save money. In 2018, it moved to a new building in El Segundo, near the Los Angeles International Airport.
One fun thing about the Los Angeles Times is its yearly Festival of Books. This event happens in the spring and includes talks, displays, and performances. It started in 1996 and moves between different places each year.
The newspaper also gives out book prizes each year. These prizes are for many kinds of books, like biography, fiction, history, and books for young readers. There is even a special prize for writers connected to the American West.
