Lusaka
Lusaka is the capital and biggest city of Zambia. It is a busy place where many people live and work. The city sits on a high flat area called a plateau about 1,279 metres above sea level. It is a center for business and government.
People have lived around Lusaka since very old times. The modern city started in 1905 when it was part of Northern Rhodesia. It began as a small stop for trains and grew into an important place. In 1964, Lusaka became the capital of the new country of Zambia.
Lusaka is a lively city with many things to see and do. You can visit places like the Lusaka National Museum and the Freedom Statue. The city has big schools, including the University of Zambia. Lusaka connects to many roads that go north, south, east, and west, making it easy to travel around.
The city has many shops and places to visit, such as Manda Hill and Levy Junction. Lusaka also has a big airport called Kenneth Kaunda International Airport for flights. It is a place where people from all over Zambia come to live, work, and visit.
