Menifee is a friendly city in Riverside County, California. It is part of a place called the Inland Empire. The city is named after a man named Luther Menifee Wilson, who was a local miner. People have lived in Menifee since the 1800s, and it became an official city in 2008. Today, about 102,527 people call Menifee home.

Menifee is located in Southern California in an area known as the Menifee Valley. It is close to the cities of Temecula and Murrieta. The city includes nearby places like Sun City, Quail Valley, and Romoland. Menifee covers about 46 square miles and sits 1,424 feet above sea level.

The area around Menifee has a long history. It was once home to the Luiseño people, especially the Pechanga band. Later, it became part of Spanish rule before joining the United States. Farming began there in the mid-1800s, and mining started in the 1880s when Luther Menifee Wilson found gold. In the 1960s, Sun City was built there as a place for people to live when they retire. It was designed by a builder from Phoenix, Arizona.

Menifee has many places to enjoy. It has 47 public parks, including the Gale Webb Action Sports Park, which is the biggest extreme bike park in Southern California. There is also a popular skate park called the Audie Murphy Ranch Skate Park. The city is building an amphitheater in Central Park for future performances.

Menifee has several schools, including parts of the Menifee Union School District, the Romoland School District, and the Perris Union High School District. These districts care for schools like Paloma Valley High School and Heritage High School. There is also a college called the Menifee Valley Campus of Mt. San Jacinto College. The city has two big libraries: the Sun City Library and the Menifee Public Library, both part of the Riverside County Library System.
