Welcome to Milan!

Milan is a big, busy city in Italy. It is the second-largest city in the country, after Rome. Lots of people live there—about 1.4 million in the city and even more in the areas around it.

A City of Fashion and Art

Milan is famous all over the world for its fashion. Many famous clothing brands, like Armani and Prada, started here. Every year, people from all over come to see Milan Fashion Week, where new clothes are shown. The city is also full of art! You can find museums and galleries with beautiful paintings and sculptures. One of the most famous artworks is The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. It is very old and very special.

Fun Places and Events

Milan loves sports, too! It has two very popular football (soccer) teams: AC Milan and Internazionale Milano. They play in a big stadium called San Siro. The city will also help host the 2026 Winter Olympics with another town nearby.

Tasty Food

If you visit Milan, be sure to try some local food! One famous dish is cotoletta alla milanese, which is a breaded veal cutlet. Another special dish is risotto alla milanese, a rice dish with saffron. The city also has yummy pastries and cheeses.

Getting Around

Milan has many ways to travel around. There are subways, trams, and buses. Some buses even run on electricity to help keep the air clean. The city also has places where you can rent bikes or cars easily.

Milan is a wonderful place to explore, with lots of art, tasty food, and exciting events!
