Mobile Phones

A mobile phone or cell phone is a small, portable telephone. It lets people make and receive calls while they move around. These phones use special radio frequency to connect to a cellular network. This is why they are often called "cell phones."

Mobile phones have changed a lot over time. They started out just for voice calls, but now they can do much more. Today, they can send text messaging, email, and connect to the internet access. Some phones, called smartphones, are very powerful and can play games, take pictures, and give directions.

The very first handheld mobile phone was shown by Martin Cooper of Motorola in New York City in 1973. Since then, mobile phones have become very popular all around the world. Today, billions of people use them, and they are considered one of the most important inventions in modern life.

Mobile phones are also called cell phones, especially in North America. People often just call them a "phone," "mobile," or "cell." These phones have become a big part of everyday life, helping people stay in touch no matter where they are.
