Modernism

Modernism was a big change in art, music, and writing that started in the early 1900s. It meant trying new things and thinking in fresh ways. Artists and writers wanted to move away from old traditions and explore new ideas.

Modernism began because the world was changing fast. New inventions, bigger cities, and new ways of thinking all played a part. Artists wanted to show how people really felt and saw the world, not just how things looked.

Some famous modernists include writers like W. B. Yeats and James Joyce, and artists like Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. They used new styles, like showing things from many angles at once or writing in a stream of thoughts.

Modernist architecture also grew, with buildings designed by people like Frank Lloyd Wright. These buildings used simple shapes and new materials.

Modernism influenced many parts of life, from painting to music to building design. It encouraged people to think differently and try new things, shaping the way we see the world today.
