Muhammad Ali of Egypt

Muhammad Ali was a very important leader who helped build modern Egypt. He was born in a small village in Albania and later moved to Kavala when he was young. As a young man, he joined an army and was sent to help Egypt after some French soldiers left.

In 1805, Muhammad Ali became the leader, or governor, of Egypt. He wanted to make the country stronger and better. He changed many things, like the army, farming, and schools. He also built new factories and helped grow special crops like cotton.

Muhammad Ali loved to learn and brought teachers from Europe to help Egypt. He sent young Egyptians to study in France and other places. He also started a school to teach women important health skills so they could help families.

People remember Muhammad Ali as a smart and strong leader who helped Egypt grow and become modern. He ruled for many years and his family led the country for a long time after him.
