Myanmar, also called Burma, is a big and beautiful country in Southeast Asia. It is next to India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, and Thailand. The sea touches its south and southwest. The capital city is Naypyidaw, but the largest city is Yangon.

Myanmar has a very old history. People lived there hundreds of thousands of years ago. Long ago, many different groups lived there, like the Pyu and the Mon. In the 1050s, the Pagan Kingdom began. This kingdom helped spread the Burmese language, culture, and Buddhism. Later, Myanmar was ruled by Britain but became independent in 1948.

Today, Myanmar is rich in natural resources like jade, gems, and oil. The country has many mountains, rivers, and forests. It is home to many different kinds of plants and animals. People in Myanmar enjoy festivals, dancing, and special ceremonies. Burmese food, like mohinga, is tasty and popular.

Myanmar has many different ethnic groups, and people speak many languages. Most people practice Buddhism, but other religions are also found there. The country continues to grow and change, with people working together to build a better future.
