Welcome to Nigeria!

Nigeria is a big, exciting country in West Africa. It is next to the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean and shares borders with Benin, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon. Nigeria is known as the "Giant of Africa" because it has the most people living there—over 200 million!

A Land of Many Cultures

Nigeria is home to many different groups of people. The three biggest groups are the Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo. Each group has its own traditions, languages, and celebrations. Even though there are many languages, everyone uses English for school and government work. This helps people from all over the country talk to each other.

Rich and Beautiful

Nigeria has a strong economy and is very important to Africa and the world. It belongs to big groups like the African Union and the United Nations. People in Nigeria enjoy music, movies, and sports. The country's film industry, called Nollywood, makes lots of movies every year. Football is super popular, and the national team is called the Super Eagles.

Amazing Places and Food

Nigeria has beautiful places to visit! From sandy beaches in Lagos to green forests and savannahs, there is something for everyone. The country also has delicious food. One popular dish is suya, a spicy street food made with peanuts, meat, or fish. Nigerian festivals are colorful and full of dancing, music, and fun!

Learning and Growing

Schools in Nigeria include kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, and university. Many children go to school, but some still need more help to get an education. The government is working hard to make sure every child can learn.

Nigeria is a wonderful place with friendly people, exciting traditions, and so much to explore!
