What is Parks Canada?
Parks Canada is a special group that takes care of beautiful places in Canada. These places include forests, mountains, oceans, and important spots from history. Parks Canada makes sure these places stay safe and healthy for everyone to enjoy.
Places Parks Canada Takes Care Of
Parks Canada looks after many special areas. There are 37 big nature parks, 11 places that might become nature parks, 5 ocean areas, 171 history spots, one city park (Rouge), and one special landmark (Pingo). These places are important for nature and history.
Helping Nature and Visitors
People called Park Wardens help keep these places safe. They walk around the parks and make sure everyone follows the rules. They also watch over plants, animals, and water to keep them healthy. Parks Canada shares this information every five years so everyone knows how well the parks are doing.
Celebrating Canada’s History
In 2017, Parks Canada celebrated Canada’s 150th birthday. They gave free passes to visitors all year so more people could enjoy the parks and history spots. This helped everyone learn about and appreciate Canada’s wonderful places.
