Platonic Academy

The Platonic Academy was a special school started by a wise man named Plato in Athens around 387 BC. It was a place where people could learn many exciting things like biology, geography, astronomy, mathematics, and history. One famous student was Aristotle, who spent twenty years studying there.

The Academy was very important because it was one of the first schools for learning in the world. People talked about many ideas there, like politics and science. The place where the Academy was located had olive trees and was sacred to Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

Today, you can visit the area called Akadimia Platonos in Athens to see where the Academy once stood. It’s a special spot that reminds us of a time when people gathered to learn and share wonderful ideas.
