What is Politics?
Politics is the way people solve problems when they are in a group or a country. It is done through a government. People who work in politics are called politicians.
Politics happens in many places. It can be in small groups like clans and tribes, or in bigger groups like local governments, companies, and sovereign states. People often join political parties to share the same ideas and leaders.
How Politics Works
An election is a fun contest where people choose who will make and change the laws. This helps decide who will lead and make important choices for everyone.
Politics has an old history. The word comes from an ancient Greek word called polis, which means "city". A famous book by Aristotle talked about city affairs, and this idea became the word we use today.
Why Politics Matters
Politics helps groups make decisions and run their communities. It is important because it affects how people live together and make rules. Whether in big countries or small groups, politics helps everyone have a say in what happens.
