Portland Timbers
The Portland Timbers are a soccer team from Portland, Oregon. They play in Major League Soccer, which is the top soccer league in the United States. The Timbers have been playing their home games at Providence Park since 2011.
The Portland Timbers began in 1975 and joined Major League Soccer in 2011. The team is named after the strong timber industry in the Pacific Northwest area. Their colors are green and yellow, like the forests of Oregon.
Fans love the Timbers, and the team has many loyal supporters. One famous group is called the Timbers Army, known for their loud cheering and fun traditions. The Timbers have rivalries with teams like the Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, especially competing for the Cascadia Cup.
