Welcome to Puebla!

Puebla is one of the 31 states that make up Mexico. It is found in the middle-east part of the country. The capital city is called Puebla City. Puebla is a place full of history, culture, and tasty food!

Where is Puebla?

Puebla touches many other places, like Veracruz, Hidalgo, and Morelos. It has mountains, forests, and rivers. Some tall mountains are Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. These mountains are very special to the people who live there.

Fun Foods and Festivals

Puebla is famous for its delicious foods. You can try mole poblano, a rich sauce, or a special sandwich called a cemita. The state also has many colorful festivals. One big celebration is Cinco de Mayo, which remembers an important event in history. Another fun time is Day of the Dead, when families honor their loved ones with beautiful altars.

Puebla’s Culture

Puebla has many traditions. One famous dress is the china poblana, worn on special occasions. People also love to dance! They perform dances like “Moors and Christians” and the Dance of the Santiagos at festivals. The state’s architecture is famous for its colorful Talavera tiles, seen on many buildings and churches.
