Reinhard Genzel

Reinhard Genzel is a scientist from Germany. He loves studying space and stars. He found something very special in the middle of our galaxy, the Milky Way. This special thing is a very big black hole.

Genzel was born in a town called Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. He studied physics and learned a lot about looking at the sky with special tools. He works at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics and also teaches at universities.

In 2020, Genzel received a very important prize called the Nobel Prize in Physics. He shared this prize with two other scientists. People all over the world know him for his amazing discoveries about our galaxy and the stars.
