Rice University

Rice University is a special school in Houston, Texas. It is called a university because it is a big place where students learn many things. Rice University started in 1912, thanks to a man named William Marsh Rice. He wanted to create a school where everyone could learn.

The school has many different areas to study, like architecture, business, and engineering. Students can also join sports teams. These teams are called the Rice Owls and play in the American Athletic Conference. They have fun games and many fans cheer for them.

Rice University's campus is big and beautiful. It has gardens, colorful buildings, and a special place called the Lynn R. Lowrey Arboretum where students can walk among trees and plants. The school works with important groups like NASA to help with new ideas and inventions.

Many famous people went to Rice University. Some became scientists, and others started big companies. The university is proud of all the smart and creative people who learn there. Students at Rice enjoy their time together, making friends and learning new things every day.
