Welcome to Riehen

Riehen is a small, friendly place in Switzerland. It is part of the canton called Basel-Stadt. Riehen is close to the city of Basel and shares borders with places in both Switzerland and Germany.

Fun Places and People

Riehen is home to the beautiful Fondation Beyeler, an art gallery with wonderful paintings and sculptures. It also has a toy museum where kids can see lots of fun toys from the past. There are also many green parks to explore and enjoy.

Some very special people grew up in Riehen. The famous tennis player Roger Federer lived here when he was a little boy. Long ago, a smart mathematician named Leonhard Euler also lived in Riehen. In 1958, Riehen made history when the first woman in Switzerland was elected to public office. Her name was Trudy Späth-Schweizer.

Riehen is a nice place to live, with many homes, schools, and places to play. It is close to rivers and forests, making it a great spot for nature lovers.
