Roses are beautiful flowers that people love all around the world. They come in many colors like red, pink, white, orange, and yellow. Roses can be small bushes or tall climbing plants.

Most roses grow naturally in Asia, but they also grow in Europe, North America, and Northwest Africa. People plant roses in gardens because they are pretty and smell nice. There are thousands of different kinds of roses because gardeners mix plants to create new ones.

Roses are important in many cultures. They often show love and beauty and appear in stories and art. Their lovely looks and sweet smell make roses one of the most loved flowers in the world.

Roses have leaves with small parts in a row and sometimes tiny points called prickles. Many roses lose their leaves in winter, but some from Southeast Asia keep their leaves all year. Roses are usually pollinated by insects, and after pollination, they make small red fruits called hips that are full of vitamin C.

People use roses to make perfumes, pretty cut flowers, and even foods like teas and jams. The rose has been a symbol for a long time, linked to gods and special days like St. Valentines Day. Artists have painted roses for centuries, and in 1986, Ronald Reagan chose the rose as the official flower of the United States.
