Same-sex marriage in Andorra
Andorra is a small country in Europe. In February 2023, same-sex marriage became legal there. This means two people who love each other can get married, no matter if they are both girls or both boys.
Before 2023, same-sex couples could join in something called “stable unions.” This gave them some rights, like helping each other. Later, in 2014, “civil unions” were added. These gave even more rights to same-sex couples.
In 2022, leaders in Andorra voted to let same-sex couples marry. This change made Andorra one of the few small countries in Europe to allow same-sex marriage. Now, same-sex couples have all the same rights as couples who are not the same sex when they marry.
