The San Gabriel Valley

The San Gabriel Valley is a beautiful place in Southern California. It sits right next to the big city of Los Angeles and has many cities and towns. The valley is named after the San Gabriel River, which flows through it. This river was named after an old Spanish mission called Mission San Gabriel Arcángel.

Long ago, the San Gabriel Valley was mostly farms. Today, it is full of cities and towns. It is a very important part of the Los Angeles area. The biggest city here is Pasadena. People from all over the world live here, making it a very mixed and interesting place.

Fun Things to Do

The San Gabriel Valley has many fun places to visit. One of the most famous events is the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day in Pasadena. This parade has colorful floats made of flowers and marching bands. People also love to visit places like the Rose Bowl and Old Pasadena, which has many shops and restaurants.

Learning and Working

The valley is also home to important schools and companies. The California Institute of Technology is a top university here. Many big companies have their offices in the valley, such as Trader Joe's and Panda Express.

The San Gabriel Valley is a wonderful place with lots to see and do. It is a special part of California that many people love to call home.
