Sangihe Islands

The Sangihe Islands are a beautiful group of islands in Indonesia. They are located northeast of Sulawesi, between the Celebes Sea and the Molucca Sea. These islands are part of North Sulawesi and include two areas called regencies: the Sangihe Islands Regency and the Sitaro Islands Regency.
The main islands are Sangir Besar, Siau, Tagulandang, and Biaro. The largest island, Sangir Besar, has an active volcanic mountain named Mount Awu. The biggest town is Tahuna, where you can also find Naha Airport.
These islands have special soil that helps plants grow well. People there speak the Sangir language, which is part of the larger Austronesian language family. Some people in the Philippines also speak this language.
The Sangihe Islands became part of Indonesia in 1945. Before that, they were under Dutch control. Today, the islands are a peaceful place to visit and learn about nature and different cultures.
