Southern Rhodesia

Southern Rhodesia was a place in Africa that is now called Zimbabwe. Many years ago, in 1888, a group called the British South Africa Company (BSAC) helped control the area.

People from many places moved there, and they built towns and schools. One important town they built was called Fort Salisbury, which is now known as Harare.

Later, Southern Rhodesia joined with two other areas to make a bigger group called the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. This group helped build big things like the Kariba Dam.

After some time, Southern Rhodesia became its own country and changed its name to Zimbabwe in 1980. Today, Zimbabwe is a happy country where many people live and work together.
