A Special Place in Vatican City

St. Peter's Square is a big, beautiful open space right in front of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. It is named after Saint Peter, a very important follower of Jesus. Many people visit this square because it is a lovely place to walk and look around.

In the middle of the square stands a tall, old stone monument called the Vatican obelisk. It came from Egypt many years ago. Around the square, there are big stone columns that make it feel warm and welcoming. There are also pretty fountains to enjoy.

The square was designed by a talented artist named Gian Lorenzo Bernini. He wanted to make a space where many people could gather. Today, St. Peter's Square is a peaceful spot in the heart of Rome, loved by visitors from all over the world.
