What is Sunnah?

Sunnah is a special word that means the habits and practices of Muhammad. For Muslims, following the Sunnah is a way to remember and honor what Muhammad did and said. It helps them learn how to live kindly and faithfully.

The Sunnah includes what Muhammad said, what he did, and even the things he quietly approved of. These traditions guide many parts of Muslim life, like prayers and daily actions. Together with the Qur'an, the Sunnah is very important in Islamic law and beliefs.

Different Groups and Books

Different groups of Muslims have their own books about the Sunnah. Sunnis use six main books called Kutub al-Sittah, while Shias use four special books called Kutub al-'Arba'a. These books share stories and teachings from Muhammad and his family. Each group values these books and learns from them in their own way.

The Sunnah shows us the example of Muhammad, helping everyone follow in his gentle and wise steps.
