Tufts University

Tufts University is a special school where students can learn many different things. It is in Medford and Somerville, close to Boston in Massachusetts, United States. It also has places in Boston, Grafton, and even Talloires, France.
Tufts started in 1852 as Tufts College. It was named after Charles Tufts, who gave land for the school. Today, more than 13,000 students go to Tufts. They can choose from over 90 different subjects to study for their first year and many more for later years.
One special part of Tufts is the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. It is the oldest school in the country for learning about other countries and how to help them get along. Students can also study art near the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Tufts has ten different schools where students can learn. The biggest one is the School of Arts and Sciences. There is also a school for doctors who work with animals in Grafton, Massachusetts. In Talloires, France, students can live in an old building and learn during the summer.
Life at Tufts is fun. Students can join groups to sing, play sports, or write for the school newspaper. They have traditions, like painting a cannon in special colors. Many famous people went to Tufts, like winners of big prizes and leaders from other countries.
