Unicorn

Unicorns are magical creatures that people have loved for thousands of years. They look like beautiful white horses with one special, spiraling horn on their heads. Sometimes they are drawn with cloven hooves like a goat and a little beard. Unicorns stand for purity, grace, and wonder.

People have told stories about unicorns since very old times, called antiquity. In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, unicorns were thought to live in wild forests. Old stories said that only a virgin could calm a unicorn. People believed the unicorn’s horn could make bad water safe to drink and help heal sickness. Sometimes, the tusk of a narwhal was sold and called a unicorn horn.

Today, unicorns are still very popular. They appear in many stories, books, movies, and symbols. Unicorns show magic, wonder, and something very rare. In recent times, the unicorn has also become a symbol for the LGBTQ community. Whether in art or toys, the unicorn remains a beloved and fascinating creature.
