Universal Music Group, or UMG, is a very big music company. It helps musicians make and share their songs all around the world. UMG is one of the three biggest music companies, along with Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group.

The main office of UMG is in Hilversum, in the Netherlands, with another big office in Santa Monica, California. The company owns lots of music, with over three million recordings and four million songs written by musicians. This makes UMG a special place for music lovers to find many kinds of music.

UMG has many labels, which are like teams that help artists. Some famous labels are Island Records, Republic Records, and Capitol Records. These labels help artists record their music and share it with fans.

The company also works with other places to share music. For example, UMG worked with Google to create Vevo, a website where people can watch music videos. Vevo now shares videos mostly through YouTube.

UMG has offices in many countries, including Spain, Germany, Poland, Canada, Japan, and Morocco. The company works in over 60 countries, with its legal home in the Netherlands.

Some important people own parts of UMG. The Bolloré family from France owns a big part, and a company called Tencent from China also owns a large share.

UMG loves helping new artists and has even started a scholarship program to help students who want to become doctors. The company is always finding new ways to share and enjoy music with everyone.
