What is YouTube?
YouTube is a fun place on the internet where people can watch and share videos. It was started in 2005 by three friends: Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim, and Steve Chen. They all used to work at PayPal. YouTube is based in San Bruno, California.
Today, YouTube is one of the most visited websites in the world. Lots of people use it every month to watch videos. People love YouTube because they can find all kinds of videos, like music videos, news, and even documentaries.
Fun Things About YouTube
YouTube has special features just for kids called YouTube Kids. Parents can set it up so it’s perfect for their child’s age. YouTube also has a service called YouTube Premium. With this, you can watch videos without any ads.
There is also YouTube Music, where you can listen to your favorite songs. And if you want to watch movies or TV shows, YouTube has that too with YouTube Movies & TV.
How YouTube Started
The first video ever uploaded to YouTube was a short clip of Jawed at the San Diego Zoo. Since then, YouTube has grown a lot. It was bought by Google in 2006, and now it has many new features like kids’ content and short videos called “Shorts”.
YouTube helps people stay connected, even during big events like the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a wonderful way for everyone to share and watch videos together.
