Wheelchair tennis
Adapted from Wikipedia · Explorer experience
Wheelchair tennis is a fun sport where people who use wheelchairs play tennis. It is very similar to regular tennis. Players use special wheelchairs made just for tennis, and the ball can bounce up to two times before being hit.
People have been playing wheelchair tennis at big tournaments since 2007. It is also one of the sports at the Summer Paralympics. There are three groups of players: Men, Women, and Quads. Each group has singles and doubles matches.
Wheelchair tennis became popular in 1976 thanks to Brad Parks. The sport was shown at the Seoul 1988 Summer Paralympics and became a full competition at the 1992 Summer Paralympics in Barcelona. Many players from all over the world join in big tournaments like the Grand Slams and the Paralympic Games.
