Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great was a famous leader from ancient Greece. He was born in Pella, a city in Macedon, around 356 BC. His father was King Philip II, and his mother was Olympias.

When Alexander was young, he learned from a smart teacher named Aristotle. Aristotle taught him many things, like stories of old heroes and ideas about the world. Alexander also learned to ride horses and became very good at it. He even tamed a wild horse named Bucephalas, who later traveled with him.

When Alexander was 20, his father died, and Alexander became king of Macedon. He had to take care of his country and make sure everyone followed him. Alexander was brave and smart. He brought many nearby lands under his control, like parts of Thrace and Illyria.

Alexander’s biggest adventure was traveling to Asia and Egypt. He led his army on a long journey and built a very big empire. His empire stretched from Greece all the way to parts of India. He visited many places, including Babylon and Susa.

Even though Alexander faced many challenges, his soldiers trusted him. He wanted to make the world a bigger place by connecting different cultures. After he passed away in 323 BC, his empire helped spread Greek ideas and ways of living to many lands. Cities he founded, like Alexandria in Egypt, became important centers for learning and trade.

Alexander the Great is remembered as one of the greatest leaders in history. His adventures and smart plans changed the world in many ways.
