Egyptians

Egyptians are a group of people who live in a special place called the Nile Valley in Egypt. Their homes are in a narrow strip of rich land along the Nile River, surrounded by big, sandy desert on both sides. This unique land has helped shape how Egyptians live for thousands of years, since very old times known as antiquity.

Most Egyptians speak a special kind of Arabic called Egyptian Arabic. Some people in certain areas speak another version called Sa'idi Arabic. Many Egyptians believe in a religion called Muslims, and most of them follow a group within it called Sunni. There are also some people called Christians, known as Copts, who have their own special ways of praying and speaking an ancient language called Coptic in their prayers.

Egyptians are known by different names. Long ago, they called themselves "rmṯ n Km.t", meaning "people of the Black Soil" of the Nile Valley. Today, they are called "Masryeen" in Egyptian Arabic. This name comes from an ancient word that meant "Civilization" or "Metropolis".

There are about 105 million Egyptians. Most live in Egypt, where they make up almost the whole population. Many Egyptians live near the Nile River, where people live close together in big communities. The country has many young people, with most under age 30. Some Egyptians live in other countries, like Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Canada, and they send money to help their families back home. Egyptians feel very connected to their homeland, especially the Nile River, which is very important to them.

Ancient Egyptians built amazing things, like the famous pyramids, to honor their dead. They loved music, festivals, and pets like cats and dogs. The Nile River gave them water for farming and shaped their land. Even today, many traditions in Egypt come from these ancient times.

Egyptian culture is very rich and has lasted for more than five thousand years. It has influenced many places in Europe, the Near East, and Africa. Even though Egypt has had many different rulers and religions over time, many old Egyptian ideas and customs have stayed strong. People in Egypt still enjoy music, festivals, and many foods that have roots in ancient times.
