Taiwan is a beautiful island country in East Asia. It sits between the East China Sea and the South China Sea in the big Pacific Ocean. Imagine a place full of green mountains, busy cities, and tasty food — that’s Taiwan!

A Land Full of People and Nature

People have lived in Taiwan for thousands of years. The island has many mountains on one side and flat lands on the other. Most people live in the west, near the capital city, Taipei. Taipei is famous for a very tall building called Taipei 101. It used to be the tallest building in the world!

Tasty Food and Fun Traditions

Taiwan is known for its yummy food. You might have heard of bubble tea, a special drink with milk, tea, and tiny balls that you suck up with a big straw. Another favorite is Taiwanese beef noodle soup, a warm, tasty soup with beef and noodles. Night markets are places where people gather to eat, shop, and have fun. You can find all kinds of snacks and games there!

Sports and Culture

Many people in Taiwan love baseball. It’s like their national sport! They even have their own baseball league. Other popular sports include basketball, volleyball, and taekwondo. Taiwan also has a rich culture with music, dance, and art. You might enjoy watching traditional dances or listening to pop music from famous Taiwanese singers.
