2017–18 Serie A
The 2017–18 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 116th season of top-tier Italian football. It was the 86th season played in a round-robin tournament and the 8th since it was organized under a league committee separate from Serie B. Juventus had won the championship six times in a row before this season.
The season started on August 19, 2017, and ended on May 20, 2018. On May 13, Juventus won their seventh championship in a row and their 34th overall when they drew 0–0 with Roma with one game still left to play.
During the season, there was sad news when Davide Astori, the captain of Fiorentina, passed away because of heart problems. This was a difficult time for everyone involved in the league.
