China at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Adapted from Wikipedia · Adventurer experience

Olympic Women's Rugby Sevens Match: New Zealand vs. China at Stade de France

The People's Republic of China took part in the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024. This was China's twelfth time competing in the Summer Olympics, starting from its first appearance in 1952. However, China missed several games in the past due to different reasons. Since 1984, China has been in every Summer Olympics.

In the 2024 Olympics, China joined every sport except football and handball. The Chinese team ended the Games with a total of 91 medals: 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze. This tied China with the United States for the most gold medals, though the United States ranked higher because of more silver medals. China's success made them only the third country, after the United States and the former Soviet Union, to win the most gold medals at a Summer Olympics held in another country. This was also China's best performance in gold medals at any Olympics outside their home country, beating their previous record from the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
