Pacific FC is a professional soccer club from Canada. It is located in Greater Victoria in British Columbia. The team plays in the Canadian Premier League, the top soccer league in Canada. Fans can watch Pacific FC at Starlight Stadium in Langford. The club brings together players and supporters to enjoy matches and build a strong community through soccer.
History
On May 5, 2018, "Port City FC" was accepted by the Canadian Soccer Association to join a new professional soccer league. The team was expected to start in either Greater Victoria or Surrey in British Columbia.
Pacific FC officially joined the Canadian Premier League on July 20 as its seventh team. They began their first season in 2019. On April 28, they won their first game against the HFX Wanderers with a goal from Hendrik Starostzik. In 2021, they beat a team from the bigger Major League Soccer, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Later that year, on December 5, Pacific FC won their first league title by defeating Forge FC in the 2021 CPL Final.
Stadium
Pacific FC plays its home games at Starlight Stadium. The stadium is in Langford. There were plans to make it bigger, but a utility pole stopped them from expanding one side. Instead, they added more seats and standing room, increasing the capacity to 6,200 for the 2019 season.
Crest and colours
The Pacific Football Club's design is inspired by Vancouver Island. The team's crest looks like a Douglas fir tree, which grows naturally on the island. The tree is split into two parts, with one side shaped like the island. Waves of the ocean and a 'V' for Victoria, victory, and Vancouver Island surround the tree.
The secondary logo is a roundel with a trident, showing the strength and bravery of the island and the Pacific Ocean's weather. It includes a Latin phrase from the coat of arms of the city of Victoria, Semper Liber, meaning 'Forever Free'.
The team's colors are purple, teal, and white, called "starfish purple", "lagoon blue", and "lighthouse white". These colors represent the native sea star, the Pacific Ocean, and the area's lighthouses.

Supporters
The first group of fans to support a Vancouver Island team in the Canadian Premier League was the Lake Side Buoys. They had already been following the Victoria Highlanders in USL League Two. Another group of fans called Torcida Oranizada Pacific (TOP) has also formed.
Rivalries
Vancouver FC
Pacific FC played against Vancouver FC for the first time on the opening day of the 2023 season at Starlight Stadium. Pacific won that match 1-0 with a goal near the end by Manny Aparicio. They met again at Willoughby Community Park Stadium, where Pacific won an exciting 6–3 game, with the winning goal scored by Easton Ongaro.
Cavalry FC
Pacific FC played Cavalry FC for the first time in the Canadian Premier League during the last game of the 2019 Spring season. Pacific won 3–1 at Westhills Stadium. Their rivalry grew stronger in the 2021 season, with the teams meeting many times in different competitions. This rivalry is also influenced by the long-standing cultural rivalry between Alberta and British Columbia.
