Alpine skiing was one of the sports at the 1994 Winter Olympics, which took place in Lillehammer, Norway. The competition included ten different events. These events were held north of Lillehammer, with speed races at Kvitfjell and technical races at Hafjell. The alpine skiing events happened between February 13 and February 21. This was a special time for athletes from around the world to compete on the snowy slopes of Norway.
Medal summary
Ten nations won medals in alpine skiing. Germany led with three gold medals and one silver. The host team from Norway won the most medals, with five total. Markus Wasmeier of Germany won two gold medals in the super G and giant slalom. Vreni Schneider of Switzerland won three medals, one of each type. Tommy Moe of the United States won gold in the downhill and silver in the super G. Kjetil André Aamodt of Norway won two silvers and a bronze.
Svetlana Gladishiva won a silver medal, the first for Russia in alpine skiing. Slovenia earned its first Winter Olympics medals with three total.

Participating nations
Forty-six nations sent skiers to compete in alpine skiing at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. Some countries, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine, were participating in Olympic alpine skiing for the very first time.
