ArenaBowl

The ArenaBowl was the championship game of the Arena Football League. It started in the 1987 season and was originally held at Pittsburgh's Civic Arena. Usually, the team with the better regular season record would host the game, but sometimes it was held in other cities like Las Vegas and New Orleans.
At first, the games were called things like "ArenaBowl '87", but later they started using Roman numerals, like ArenaBowl VIII. The original league stopped in 2009, but a new league kept the tradition alive, holding games up until 2019. The last game was ArenaBowl XXXII between the Albany Empire and Philadelphia Soul.
In 2020, the rights to the Arena Football League and ArenaBowl names were sold. The ArenaBowl name came back in 2024 for ArenaBowl XXXIII. The ArenaBowl was an important event for fans of arena football, showing the best teams competing for the title.
Results
The first seven ArenaBowls were named after the year they were played, like ArenaBowl '87. Starting with ArenaBowl VIII, they used Roman numerals, and the earlier games were changed to match. Some teams changed their names over the years. For example, the Pittsburgh Gladiators moved and became the Tampa Bay Storm in 1991. Similarly, the Nashville Kats moved to become the Georgia Force in 2002. The Kats came back later, but the Force was seen as a new team.
