Hockey Club Dinamo Minsk, also called HC Dinamo Minsk, is a professional ice hockey team from Minsk, Belarus. They play in the Kontinental Hockey League, one of the top hockey leagues in the world, and are part of the Tarasov Division.

The team has been strong competitors, making it to the league playoffs nine times. These were in the 2010–11, 2011–12, 2014–15, 2016–17, 2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024–25 seasons. Even though they have fought hard, they have not yet won any rounds in the playoffs, losing all nine times so far.

History

Dinamo was started in 2003 and took its name from an earlier Minsk club. The team won the Belarusian Extraleague once and the Belarus Cup twice.

In 2008, Dinamo joined the KHL. They played at the Minsk Palace of Sports before moving to Minsk-Arena in 2009. Over the years, many coaches have led the team. In the 2010–11 season, they had their best performance, making it close to the Western Conference semi-finals.

Tragedy struck in 2011 when a plane carrying the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team crashed before a game against Dinamo. A memorial was held at Minsk-Arena to honor those lost. In the 2016–17 season, Dinamo set several club records during the regular season but did not succeed in the playoffs. The team faced financial difficulties in later years, which affected their performance.

Arenas

HC Dinamo Minsk used Minsk Sports Palace as their home before moving to the new Minsk-Arena in 2010. In the 2024–25 KHL season, the team had one of the largest crowds, with about 14,446 fans coming to each game on average.
