Moldova at the Olympics
Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
The Republic of Moldova first joined the Olympic Games as its own country in 1994 and has sent athletes to compete in every Olympics since that time.
Before becoming independent, Moldovan athletes took part in the Olympics as part of Romania from 1924 to 1936. Later, they competed under the Soviet Union from 1952 to 1988. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Moldova was grouped with the Unified Team in 1992 before competing alone.
So far, Moldova has not won any medals at the Winter Olympic Games. The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Moldova was formed in 1991 and received official recognition from the International Olympic Committee in 1993.
