Shooting at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's skeet

Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience

The Women's skeet event at the 2008 Olympic Games took place on August 14 at the Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field. Skeet shooting is a fun and exciting sport where participants aim at flying clay targets. This event tested the skills and precision of the world's best shooters.

The competition had two main parts: a qualifier and a final. In the qualifier, each shooter took three sets of 25 shots, trying to hit as many targets as possible. The top six shooters from this round advanced to the final.

In the final round, these six shooters each took another set of 25 shots. Their total score from all 100 shots decided their final ranking. If two or more shooters had the same score, they had a special shoot-off to break the tie, taking extra shots one at a time until someone came out on top.

Records

Before this competition, there were existing world and Olympic records for the Women's skeet event. These records stood until the games took place.
